Track animations, alternatively referred to as trails, are randomized animations that will trail behind one's own car during a race.
Trails made their debut during the 2015 Halloween Event when the admins decided to give everyone "a little taste of the upcoming trails feature." They returned for every Halloween/Hallowampus event after that. In those events, a trail appeared in every race if the player was using a Halloween car. On May 2, 2019, trails were released to all users, but with a randomized chance of them appearing.
- The Nitro Type admins and The Wampus are currently the only users that have full access to this feature and can use it whenever they want, event or not.
- The Wampus originally used the smoke trail, but that was changed later on to the flame trail after the release of Nitro Type 2.0.
- It is confirmed that trails have a 1/150 chance of appearing behind a player's car during a race.
According to the NT admin team, track animations will become important season rewards and features. Throughout 2020, different Track Animations were spoiled to players by Travis. The admins plan to introduce many different types of track animations starting in Season 28. A list of these features includes: "trails, sound effects, track effects, animated cars, reactive cars, skins (in some form)" and more.
