Staff members are in charge of the management of the wiki. They monitor everything and make sure everything goes smoothly. While most people can do anything on this site, such as reading and editing, staff can access a few additional functions.

What does each position do?
Bureaucrats are senior editors. As well as being full Administrators, they have management abilities where they can grant limited user rights.
Administrators are trusted editors, equipped with the tools to keep the wiki running smoothly. They can issue blocks to troublesome editors, revert vandalism using the rollback tool, and delete and move pages. They are authorized to use the tools at their disposal to deal with issues facing the wiki to the best of their ability.
Discussions Moderators are users who have additional tools available to manage conversations in various features across the community where users are having social discussions. They can also close and remove threads on message walls that are unnecessary, as well as lock or delete threads on discussions that break one of the guidelines.
Content moderators are people who are able to edit administrator-only pages, change protection of pages, and delete pages if necessary. They can also revert vandalism on pages using rollback.
Applying for Staff
Staff members are promoted only if the vast majority of the community promotes a user as such during staff elections, or if a current staff member invites a trusted community member to become a staff member.
